The impact of the knifefish infestation was brought to the attention of the media during the Luzon Wide Environmental Media Conference held on board MV/BFAR on February 2013. On going activities on the impact assessment of knifefish in open water fisheries and aquaculture production of Laguna de Bay were presented by Dr. Adelaida L. Palma. A media blitz followed the event where knifefish was featured in various environmental programs as Born to be Wild, (Channel 5), Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho and Investigative Documentary and various public affairs and radio programs.
