CONDUCT OF 2nd NATIONAL FORUM ON INVASIVE FISHES
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) organized the 2nd National Forum on invasive fishes to highlight the information education and communication campaign of the Project “Sugpuin ang Knifefish”.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) organized the 2nd National Forum on invasive fishes to highlight the information education and communication campaign of the Project “Sugpuin ang Knifefish”.
The main
objectives of the Forum is to create public awareness on the negative impacts
of invasive alien fishes and prevent their spread to other inland bodies of
water.
The event
dwelt on the theme “Mapaminsalang Dayuhang Isda; Pigilang Makawala sa Mga Ilog at Lawa”
It was
attended by the regional focal persons on inland resource management,
representatives from the local government units and Integrated Fisheries and
Aquatic Management Councils (IFARMCs) from areas with major and critical lakes,
National Government Agencies (NGAs) and academe.
